I stepped back into the 16th century at the 33rd Annual Florida Renaissance Festival, and what an extraordinary adventure it was! Nestled in the picturesque Quiet Waters Park in Deerfield Beach, the festival transformed an ordinary weekend into an extraordinary journey.

From the moment I entered the Village of Kimmendale, I was transported to a vibrant world of medieval pageantry and excitement. Over 100 artisan merchants lined the marketplace, showcasing an incredible array of handcrafted treasures. Blown glass sparkled in the sunlight, hand-tooled leather goods displayed intricate craftsmanship, and unique pottery caught my eye at every turn.

I was particularly taken aback by Blood Moon Earrings. This fascinating line of handmade polymer clay and resin earrings is designed by South Florida-based artisan Katrina Ramos. I was instantly enthralled with her moon and snake design earrings and snapped up several pairs of her creations.

In addition to a bit of shopping, I also indulged in getting an annual Henna tattoo! This year, I stopped at A New World Henna to get a couple of music-theme tatts from a brilliant artist named Jade. It really is all about that bass, so of course I went with a bass clef design! It was a really fab experience.

The Entertainment at The Florida Renaissance Fair was also some royally good fun! Twelve stages came alive with performances that brought the era to life. The Foxy Bard provided some lively acoustic vibes at the entrance of the festival as other musical acts entertained throughout the festival. One of the things I love to do every year at The Florida Renaissance Festival is not plan too much ahead and just allow myself to roam around and see where the day takes me. There is literally something fascinating going on around every corner and turn of the festival.

And the Kelly Academy of Irish Dance delighted with multiple performances of meticulously choreographed high-kicking joy. Grace shined like a precious green emerald as she headlined her routine as Grace O'Malley, the "Pirate Queen of Ireland!" with her super talented dance troupe mate Kate at her side! And as a bonus, I got to hang out with their equally amazing mamas, Erin and Kelly!

Huzzah to another successful year of Florida Renaissance Festival! I am already looking forward to the festival's return!
