Tim Finnegans was rocking Friday night with an electric energy that could only mean one thing: authentic music was about to happen. JD Danner debuted her latest original composition "Unbroken" to a standing ovation. The anthemic song packs a powerful message of hope for many who are struggling right now.
"Debuting 'Unbroken' in an acoustic, stripped down version , I was not sure how it would be received because it's a power ballad," Danner says. "The energetic reception I got from the audience was unexpected and beyond and inspiring to me."
There's something special about witnessing an artist in their element, and Friday night showcased exactly why Danner continues to captivate audiences across South Florida. Flanked by the powerhouse rhythm section of Randy Ridenour on drums and Keith Ridenour on lead guitar, the trio created an intimate yet electrifying atmosphere that had the crowd engaging in every note.
The evening wasn't just about new material, though. Danner and her band delivered stunning interpretations of classic covers, including Melissa Etheridge's "I'm The Only One" and "Never Been To Spain," and Keith Ridenour rocked Joe Cocker's "Feelin' Alright," proving that great songs transcend generations when they're in the right hands. Steve Minotti also added some fun acoustic flavor to the night when when he was invited to the stage to perform The Wallflower's hit "One Headlight." In added twist of fate and fun, Minotti and the Ridenour brothers all attended Deerfield Beach High School together so it ended up being an impromptu reunion.
