The intimacy of the room lent itself to a real symbiotic relationship between the band and their fans.

It was immediately evident The Wldlfe has a loyal fan base: standing on the floor in the back I saw people singing and shouting every lyric, in every direction I looked.

I’m a new fan, so going into the show I was most familiar with their new album Revolver which was just released on October 2nd.

New songs “Ruby” and “No Sleep” sounded full in the space.

It was fun hearing some of my favorites, especially “Parachute” and “Delusional.”

Bassist Jack Crane and touring drummer Miles Laderman have a great stage dynamic, holding down the rhythm section with ease and confidence.

Brothers Jansen and Carson Hogan share vocal duties, each voice distinct and complementary of one another.

Carson rounded off the first third of the set with the wildly popular and catchy “Lips.”

Midway through the set, Jansen introduced the idea of the audience choosing the next song they played by spinning a “tiny wheel.”

Admittedly, the wheel turned up missing. Two choices were still offered, but “Make Me Cry” from 2024’s Heaven is a Place won the crowd vote.

Toward the back half of the set, Jansen thanked the fans for sticking with them through their evolution, naming “Revolver” as a song that is especially important to them. He went on to say the band has grappled with what genre to classify themselves as.

Instead, they dared to defy being boxed in. Exploring and establishing a sound that’s uniquely theirs continues to set them apart from other young bands.

Seeing the way people showed up with so much support and enthusiasm got me excited for the band’s future!

They truly put everything into their performance: passion and heart spilled over song after song. It was a memorable and electrifying performance.
