There's something so totally rock and roll about a barbershop that understands the transformative power of a great cut—and an even better soundtrack. Floyd's 99 Barbershop brought both to Deerfield Beach this week, turning a ribbon-cutting into a full-blown celebration of community, craft, and rock 'n' roll spirit.

The Deerfield Beach location delivers Floyd's complete menu of professional services for men, women, and children including precision cuts and fades, full-service barbering, color treatments, waxing, deep conditioning, blowouts and expert styling.

The October 24th grand opening at 119 N. Federal Highway wasn't your typical ribbon cutting. Legendary rock photographer Larry Marano—the man who's captured everyone from Prince to Taylor Swift in their most electric moments—was on hand to document the occasion, his presence affirming Floyd's authentic connection to music culture. The day began with a blessing from Father Junesh Xavier of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, grounding the festivities in community values before the clippers started buzzing.

Owner Isis O'Brien's vision is clear: this isn't just about haircuts. It's about creating an experience where clients fleave "feeling like a rock star." Walking into Floyd's means stepping into a space where hand-curated posters of musical legends line the walls, where the custom radio station pumps carefully selected tracks celebrating both icons and local talent, and where every service concludes with a complimentary shoulder massage that turns routine grooming into ritual.

"We're happy to be here in Deerfield Beach and we're ready to rock and roll," O'Brien exclaimed. "Haircuts are $10 for a limited time, so come on down!"

Local leaders embraced the arrival with enthusiasm. Deerfield Beach Commissioner Michael Edward Hudak captured the sentiment perfectly. "Deerfield Beach loves Floyd's," Hudak added. "What a positive additon. We're so happy that they're actyally here in our city. And Deerfield Beach isn't a city—we're a community and we're welcoming another neighbor."

The Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce echoed this warmth, with Executive Vice President Denise Jordan noting they're now "a haircut away" from supporting Floyd's journey.

What sets Floyd's apart is its commitment to the details—precision cuts and fades, full-service barbering, the signature straight-razor neck shave with hot lather and steamed towels. Since the O'Brien brothers opened their first shop outside Denver in 2001, they've built a family-owned empire spanning over 150 locations across 15 states—each one maintaining that same dedication to quality, consistency, and amplified energy.

South Florida just got a little sharper and definitely a lot cooler. South Florida Concert News already has a "Whole Lotta Love" for Floyd's 99. Stop in and see what the buzz is all about!
