Chicago and Styx kicked off their first-ever co-headlining tour in style on July 13, opening The Windy Cities Tour at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre in West Palm Beach. Two Midwest institutions shared a stage for a night that felt equal parts nostalgia and celebration, proof that both bands still had plenty of fire left after decades on the road.

Styx set the tone early, leaning into the arena-rock bombast that made them staples of classic rock radio, with soaring harmonies and theatrical flair that got the crowd on its feet before the sun had fully set. Chicago followed with the horn-driven muscle and soft-rock tenderness that built their legacy, moving fluidly between blistering brass workouts and the tender ballads that turned them into one of the best-selling acts in American music history.

What made the night special was the sense of shared roots. Both bands emerged from the same city and the same era, and hearing their catalogs side by side underscored just how much of the classic rock and pop landscape they helped shape. A strong start to a tour that has a lot of ground left to cover before it wraps in Los Angeles.
