Squeeze, Adam Ant And Haircut 100 Took Over Hard Rock Live in Hollywood

Three acts, three distinct flavors of British pop, and one irresistible night of music: Squeeze brought their Tried, Tested and Trixies tour to Hard Rock Live in Hollywood on August 20, with Adam Ant and Haircut 100 making the bill feel like a celebration of songs that still sound wonderfully alive.
Haircut 100 opened with bright, breezy charm, turning “Fantastic Day” and “Love Plus One” into a welcome dose of sunshine. Adam Ant followed with all the theatrical swagger his name promises. From “Prince Charming” to “Goody Two Shoes” and “Stand and Deliver,” he made the stage his own.
Then Squeeze showed why Glenn Tilbrook and Chris Difford’s songs have endured. “Pulling Mussels (From the Shell)” and “Up the Junction” brought the wit, while “Black Coffee in Bed” and “Tempted” supplied the ache beneath the hooks. Material from Trixies sat alongside the favorites, giving the set a sense of discovery as well as nostalgia.
By the time “Take Me I’m Yours” closed the night, the takeaway was clear: great pop music does more than take you back. In the right hands, it meets you exactly where you are.
