No Scrubs, No Limits: TLC, Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue Bring Their Legacy to Hard Rock Live In Hollywood, Florida

The It’s Iconic tour arrived at Hard Rock Live in Hollywood, Fla., on September 24 with a title that sounded like a dare. TLC, Salt-N-Pepa and En Vogue had more than enough music between them to back it up. Together, they represented three distinct sounds that helped change the course of pop, R&B and hip-hop.
En Vogue brought the vocal sophistication. The group’s gift has always been making intricate harmonies feel effortless, pairing elegance with a streak of defiance. Salt-N-Pepa brought the attitude: playful, commanding and entirely comfortable taking up space. Their records made room for women to be funny, frank and in control on their own terms.
TLC’s catalog added its own blend of wit, warmth and hard-earned wisdom. Few groups could move so naturally between the swagger of “No Scrubs” and the compassion of “Waterfalls.” Those songs endure because the melodies are irresistible and the feelings beneath them still ring true. Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes remains an essential part of that story, her voice and imagination woven into what made TLC singular.
There is an easy temptation to call a tour like this a trip back to the ’90s. That misses what made these artists matter in the first place. Each group helped redraw the boundaries of what women could say, how they could sound and how boldly they could present themselves in mainstream music.
In Hollywood, sharing one bill made their connection impossible to miss. The evening celebrated songs that have traveled across decades and the women who gave them their character. It’s Iconic was a fitting name, but the stronger word was enduring. These artists built music with a life far beyond its first moment.
