While reunion tours and nostalgia acts have become commonplace, there remains something truly special about witnessing a genuine guitar god revisit their glory days with renewed passion. Such was the case when George Lynch, the maestro whose fretwork defined a generation of hard rock, descended upon Crazy Uncle Mike's for what was billed as a final opportunity to hear him perform the Dokken catalog that made him a household name among the denim-and-leather set.
The evening began with Terry Ilous' XYZ warming up the already-buzzing crowd, but the undeniable electricity in the room peaked when Lynch took the stage. Flanked by an all-star ensemble featuring vocalists Terry Ilous and Brett Carlisle (Great White, AON), bassist Jaron Gulino (Lynch Mob), and drummer Stet Howland (Metal Church, W.A.S.P.), Lynch launched into a set that was both faithful to the source material and daringly reimagined.
