Evanescence Turns West Palm Beach Into a Cathedral of Sound on the Sanctuary Tour

Amy Lee and company proved once again why Evanescence remains one of rock's most enduring forces, delivering a career-spanning, emotionally charged set at iTHINK Financial Amphitheatre on the Sanctuary tour last month.

The night opened with the title track from the band's long-awaited new album, and "Sanctuary" set the tone immediately: soaring, cinematic, unmistakably Evanescence. From there, Lee and the band moved fluidly between new material and old favorites, treating the crowd to live debuts of "Tell Me When You've Had Enough," "Rapture," "Like You," "Self Destruct," "Calm Down," "Beautiful Lie," "Forever Without You," "About Us," and "Wide Open Heart." That's nine songs never performed live before this run, and the band handled the new territory with the same command they bring to their biggest hits.

Lee's voice remains a force of nature, gliding from delicate whisper to full-throated wail without ever losing its precision. "Going Under" and "Lithium" hit with all the fury longtime fans expect, while "Bring Me to Life" and "My Immortal" turned the amphitheater into a mass singalong, thousands of voices rising together under the Florida night sky.

A standout moment came during "Fight Like a Girl," when Spiritbox's Courtney LaPlante joined Lee onstage alongside Nova Twins for a blistering, defiant collaboration that felt like a genuine highlight rather than a tacked-on guest spot. The chemistry was real, the energy electric.

By the time "Wide Open Heart" closed the night, it was clear this wasn't just a nostalgia tour. Evanescence sounded hungry, present, and fully in command of both their legacy and their future. Sanctuary isn't just an album title. It's what this band still builds every time they step onstage.
