Buckcherry brought their Roar Like Thunder tour to the Culture Room in Fort Lauderdale on August 22, with Tyler Bryant & the Shakedown setting the tone for a night of unapologetic rock ’n’ roll.

Bryant’s set offered more than a warmup. Songs such as “Fallin Up,” “Mama Like to Rock” and “Drive Me Mad” gave his band room to show off its bluesy grit and guitar fire. By the time Buckcherry took over, the evening had already built a head of steam.

Buckcherry leaned into everything fans come to them for: hard riffs, big choruses and songs made to be played loud. “Lit Up” and “Sorry” showed the range of their catalog, while newer tracks from Roar Like Thunder fit right into the set. Frontman Josh Todd has always understood the appeal of a rock show that lets loose, and this bill gave him plenty to work with.

The pairing worked because both acts share a love of guitars with bite and performances with personality. For South Florida rock fans, it was a welcome reminder that a great club show can still make a Saturday night feel larger than life.
