Billy Idol Brought the Rebel Yell to South Florida...and We're Still Dancing!

The "It's A Nice Day To…Tour Again!" tour lived up to its cheeky name when Billy Idol stormed the Amerant Bank Arena stage on May 13th, proving that at 69, the platinum-haired punk pioneer still knows how to command a crowd. What started as a medley of his biggest hits—"Rebel Yell," "Eyes Without a Face," and "White Wedding"—immediately set the tone for a night that would blur the lines between nostalgia trip and rock masterclass.

The setlist read like a greatest hits compilation come to life, but Idol and his band treated each song with the reverence of a live debut. Steve Stevens' guitar solo segment was particularly electrifying, weaving through Led Zeppelin's "Over the Hills and Far Away" and "Stairway to Heaven" before channeling Van Halen's "Eruption" – a reminder that this band contains legitimate rock royalty.

Idol's voice, while showing its years, carried the sneer and swagger that made songs like "Cradle of Love" and "Flesh for Fantasy" MTV staples. The crowd sang every word of "Mony Mony," transforming the Sunrise arena into one massive sing-along. By the time the encore rolled around with "Dancing With Myself" and a triumphant "White Wedding," it was clear that Billy Idol is still "Hot In The City."
